I appreciate her courage and hope to build enough courage myself to make a similar decision.Īs I prepare to retire for the evening, I pass along a simple reminder - hug the ones you care about and tell them you love them. She mentioned in the past her desire to contribute to the education of future doctors and possibly to extend the life of someone else. I did notice that she is struggling to focus her vision to those that are speaking but I am consoled that she acknowledges in other ways. I believe she heard our words because she provides some simple acknowledgements. The children and I were able to spend some quality time with Lynne this afternoon. ![]() As the signs of Lynne's impending passing increase, I am reluctant or incapable of resting. I decided to spent the night at the hospice house tonight. ![]()

The narrator describes the ship's master-at-arms, a man of uncertain origin named John Claggart. On the Indomitable, though, there was no hint of mutiny, as everyone obeys and respects the intellectual, brave captain, Captain Vere. The narrator's main story takes place in the summer of 1797, soon after a number of mutinies have beset the British navy, including the infamous Nore Mutiny. He has "masculine beauty" and only one flaw: a tendency to stutter when nervous. Billy is innocent and naïve, and the narrator compares him to Adam in the Garden of Eden. Before following Billy's adjustment to life on his new ship, the narrator describes Billy at greater length. All the other sailors love Billy and would do anything for him. The captain of the Rights-of-Man, Captain Graveling, tells Lieutenant Ratcliffe of the Indomitable, who has selected Billy for naval service, that he is losing his best sailor. The narrator describes Billy Budd, a handsome, good-natured young sailor who is taken from his merchant ship, the Rights-of-Man, into service on a British Royal Navy warship, the Indomitable (in some editions, the Bellipotent). ![]() ![]() ![]() Her first published work came in 2000 with One Summer Night. ![]() Her favorite pastimes include camping, hiking, birdwatching Gerri began writing lesbian romance as a way to amuse herself while snowed in one winter in the mountains of Colorado, and hasn’t looked back.
